Knowledge and Skills for Life

International Reading Association | Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) | Research | Available

product number: 9165553

This unprecedented study by the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), a major new initiative of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), provides international comparative data on the knowledge and skills of students near the end of compulsory education. Approximately 265,000 students in 32 countries took part in the first round of the survey, which will be repeated at three-year intervals. PISA’s groundbreaking effort to monitor student achievement during the next decade will enable countries regularly and predictably to monitor their progress in meeting key learning objectives.
