From Library Journal
The 25 books selected for use in this index are as varied as the foods they present. Their common bond is that they focus on all-American foods: Recipes range from Twinkies set into jello mixture with vanilla ice cream and 7-Up to Jerusalem Artichoke Bisque and everything in between--something for everyone. This cookery index was created to facilitate the recipe search that many librarians, chefs, scholars, and home cooks go through when looking for a well-remembered dish or a regional speciality. The recipes are indexed by name, major ingredients, preparation method, and region. A very complete reference on American regional foods.
