Description
The OCULA EDI Community of Practice (CoP) is happy to announce our upcoming open meeting in celebration of International Women’s Day: Women and Leadership in Libraries. We invite all OCULA and non-OCULA members to join us virtually on Tuesday March 7, 2:00 – 3:30 PM ET, as we discuss gendered expectations in leadership, imposter syndrome, as well as formal and informal leadership in academic libraries.
By using the term “women,” we include everyone who identifies with this term, including but not limited to, cisgendered women, trans women, and Two-Spirit.
During the meeting, we will be discussing the following articles. You are welcome to read them in advance.
- Olin, J. & Millet, M. (2015). Gendered Expectations for Leadership in Libraries In the Library with the Lead Pipe.
- Tulshyan, R. & Burey, J. (2021, Feb 11). Stop Telling Women They Have Imposter Syndrome. Harvard Business Review.
Facilitators: Saman Goudarzi, Mai Lu, and Hannah Tanna
