OLA is a charitable and non-profit organization that accepts donations for several funds. Each fund supports the library and information sector uniquely; from supporting OLA programs to getting books into the hands of children across Ontario, to mentorship, and more.

Fund
Supports the expansion of the Forest of Reading Festivals into rural and at-risk communities, provides book delivery and/or book sets to rural, remote and Indigenous communities, and assists with school author visits.
Sarah Badgley Literacy Fund for Rural Ontario Children
Supports children’s literacy initiatives in rural public libraries and to urban public libraries that serve rural clientele.

Challenge Fund
An award intended to encourage and foster leadership in innovation in librarianship and libraries in Canada.

The Children’s
Book Award
Provides a monetary award to a Canadian children’s authors and illustrators to support a library or community organization visit in a small or rural community in Canada.
Dr. Janette Baker Scholarship
Supports enrolment at a recognized Ontario library and information program by an individual who has been working for a minimum of three years and who is employed outside of the education profession.
