Last week, we held our April board meeting where we reviewed our Q2 finance and membership reports, heard updates from each of the board working groups, and approved 10 revised policies. It was a full agenda, and a great example of the steady governance work that keeps things moving behind the scenes.

A big thank you to FIMS at Western for inviting us to sit in on their student research showcase. It is always inspiring to see the range of ideas, questions, and passion coming from emerging professionals, and a good reminder of the future of the sector we are all helping to shape. Sidenote – some A+ Canva work.

Behind the mic, our podcast production team met to map out the final episodes of the season. We have some fantastic guests lined up, so stay tuned. Over the past few weeks, we released three mini-episodes focusing on cultural programming – Canada Reads, the Junos and Canadian Film Day. Give them a listen.

And finally, several of our staff attended the School Library Consultant event hosted by Hamilton Wentworth DSB. From all accounts, it was an incredibly valuable day, with thoughtful conversations about literacy and how we can better support students at every stage. Exactly the kind of space we want to be in!

See you next Tuesday!
