Rediscovering Joy in Academic Librarianship
OCULA Council
In the midst of budget changes, competing priorities, and evolving roles, it’s easy to lose sight of what makes academic librarianship joyful in the first place. First kicked off by an online chat in late spring 2026, Rediscovering Joy in Librarianship will be a full-day educational event in Fall 2026 that will give you the opportunity to reconnect with the parts of your work that inspire curiosity, creativity, and purpose, whether that means collaborating with faculty, supporting student learning, shaping collections, designing instruction, advancing research, or building inclusive services to better serve campus communities.
What you can expect:
Lightning talks and poster presentations on your areas of research
Roundtable discussions on topics that bring you life
Opportunities to connect with academic library colleagues, and more!
Call for Proposals: We are currently accepting proposals for lightning talks, poster presentations, interactive roundtable discussions, and outside-the-box submissions that will reignite your professional spark. Submissions will be accepted until August 10th, 2026 at 11:59AM ET (noon). Submit your ideas here!
More details, including program and registration, will be released in the fall.
