Navigating Menopause in the Library Workplace
Education Institute
SAVE THE DATE!
As a significant portion of the library workforce moves through perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause, library and information management organizations have an opportunity to better understand these experiences and create supportive environments where staff can thrive.
Participants will then explore how menopause-related challenges show up in the library workplace, where fatigue, sleep disruption, brain fog, anxiety, temperature sensitivity, and changing energy levels can influence everything from frontline service and programming to management, collaboration, and workplace wellbeing.
A two-part virtual series aimed at investigating a stage of life that happens to many library workers – menopause! The first session is a candid, practical session for employees navigating perimenopause and menopause — and anyone who wants to better understand what the people around them may be experiencing. The second session offers a leadership-focused approach that moves from awareness into action, including workplace culture, accommodations, benefits, supportive communication, policy considerations and practical steps organizations can take.
Hosted by the Education Institute.
