Also known as Kobo, this Canadian company operates a global digital reading platform that distributes ebooks and audiobooks through its online store and mobile applications. The company also develops the Kobo eReader line of electronic reading devices. Founded in 2009 as Shortcovers by Michael Serbinis, and later renamed Kobo Inc, the company was acquired by Rakuten in 2012 and became part of Rakuten’s global digital content ecosystem.
