The Health Sciences Library was created in 1919 and is one of the oldest paediatric hospital libraries in North America. The Library's primary role is to support the clinical, research and educational activities of all staff, learners, and associates of SickKids by providing state-of-the-art access to information.
SickKids Archives collects, preserves and provides access to records relating to the history of the Hospital and its staff, with records dating back to its founding in 1875. Archival records include: minutes of official committees, internal documents, photographs, film/video, publications, newspaper and magazine clippings, personal recollections, and a small number of physical objects.
